The Buffalo County Public Defender is seeking an applicant for a Deputy Public Defender.
The Buffalo County Public Defender's Office is seeking qualified applicants for a position as Deputy Public Defender. The Buffalo County Public Defender's Office represents indigent defendants in misdemeanor, felony, child support enforcement/establishment, and mental health board. Must have strong client counseling and time-management skills, and be able to cultivate strong professional relationships with county officials and judiciary.
Salary Range is $80,000 to $104,000 per year, depending on experience. Benefits include sick time, vacation, county retirement and medical insurance.

The Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for a Certified Deputy Sheriff
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age; have a valid Nebraska driver’s license; a high school diploma or GED; no felony or serious misdemeanor convictions; be able to read, write and understand the English language; and be able to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. Nebraska certification is preferred but not mandatory. Out of state certification must meet reciprocity requirements.
Hourly pay, $28.98-$42.85, dependent upon the number of years of service.

Applicants must be at least 21 years of age; have a valid Nebraska driver’s license; a high school diploma or GED; no felony or serious misdemeanor convictions; be able to read, write and understand the English language; and be able to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. Non-certified applicants must be able to meet the NLETC qualification standards for certification. All applicants must pass an initial background check in order to be eligible for testing.
