Job Description:

The Buffalo County Public Defender's Office is seeking qualified applicants for a position as Deputy Public Defender. The Buffalo County Public Defender's Office represents indigent defendants in misdemeanor, felony, child support enforcement/establishment, mental health board, and limited juvenile court capacities. Must have strong client counseling and time-management skills, and be able to cultivate strong professional relationships with county officials and judiciary.
Salary Range is $78,000 to $96,000 per year, depending on experience. Benefits include sick time, vacation, county retirement and medical insurance.
Recent graduates encouraged to apply. Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Nebraska at the beginning of employment, which will start in mid-December, 2023. Veteran's preference will be given.
