Assistant Veterans Service Officer

If you are passionate about serving veterans and their
families and you have excellent customer service, communication and
organization skills, apply to join our team at the Buffalo County Veteran
Service Office.

The Veteran Service Officer counsels, advises and assists
military service veterans, military retirees, veterans’ survivors and
dependents in obtaining benefits available to them under federal, state and
local laws. This position includes daily contact with the public and works
under the direction of the Buffalo County Veteran Service Officer.
Minimum qualifications
High School Degree or equivalent
Must possess strong computer abilities
Applicants must pass a detailed background check.
Applicants for this position shall have
served on active duty in the armed forces of the United States, other than
active duty for training and shall have been discharged or otherwise separated
with a characterization of honorable from the service. Applicants shall also
have been bona fide residents of the State of Nebraska continuously for at
least one year immediately prior to assuming any such position.
